It's a scarily-good blog this month
BOO! Ha Ha, did I scare you? Okay, sorry, bad Halloween Joke.
It's time for your monthly dose of what's going on here at Choices 4 Youth. Last month was awesome. We, here at Choices, had our first full company meeting since getting our 501c3 (federal non-profit status) and began our work towards making 2007 our biggest year yet. We met with Mark Simon of Storywalkers who is helping us out get funding for our programs so we can reach more communities, more schools, more organizations, which all means more kids. Talk about a guy with passion and motivation, Mark joined us at James' tiny Sacramento apartment and raised the temperature about 10 degrees. We really excited to be working with him.
I also had the chance to travel to New York and present at Hofstra University. I had a huge amount fun and got the chance to talk with some students after the presentation who were really excited about our Memory Skills. Plus I had a chance to see Jake and Matt, and get some super spicy Thai food. Well, actually they got spicy food and I wused out.
In the coming months we are excited to announce that we'll be working with the Friendship Club again. Through a program that is going to last all the way until next April, we're going to be training a group of Freshman, young woman how to facilitate experiential learning events and then they'll get the chance to lead a day of activities for some elementary students at the end of the program. Personally speaking, I always have so much fun working with this group and I'm excited to know that I'm working with them all the way from now to April. Make sure to come to the website and check out pictures.
Last piece of good news is we're going to get the chance this weekend to hang out with Vicki Abadesco and Heath Wood this weekend. These are two great people who worked with us in Manor Texas and we always love to see. Hey Heath, I went to Chilli's the other day and thought of you.
Make sure you do something fun for Halloween, hand out something healthy to your trick-or-treaters, and if you have any news you want to share with the whole Choices 4 Youth community just let me know and I'll include in next month's blog.
Your choices are your own,
Greg

Greg said it well when he talked about how jazzed we all are to have are first nonprofit meeting the other day and about all the opportunities that are coming about to work with more kids. With the extra work we're hoping to build up a solid/core staff that can work with us on a regular basis. If you're interested, make sure to let us know. Also, if you've worked with us before and your address or phone number changes let us know. I'm proud to be part of this company and totally blown away by the amazing work Greg and Christine have done with the company . Thanks to everyone who has helped us along, offered advice, and worked with us.
take care,
-James McCray
